Refused R. Rs. Mems: of
the 6th Instant and its
accompanying
Report on the advisability of erecting Light houses and Beacons in the neighbourhood of Hong Kong, and have to reply as follows:-
During the last ten years there have been but three Shipwrecks in
this vicinity – H.M.S. "Pelorus" in
1857 was lost about 29 Miles S. E. by S. of Hong Kong.
H.M.S. "Assistance" in 1860 was lost on a rock about 100 yards from
this Island near Aberdeen. The
British Ship "Leopard" in 1861 was lost on Boulder Point, Lantao.

1857 was lost about 29 Miler S. 6. N. of Bong kong- 6.
M. J. Assistance in 1860. was Cost on a rock about 100 yard from
on an unknown rock
this Island near Aberdeen. The
Doritish This" Learnought " in 1801 was lost on Boulder Print, Lar.
